approach
A core part of Colleen’s approach to her work is based upon the belief healing is a courageous journey of self-discovery, where individuals break free from past wounds, build self-worth, and create secure, meaningful connections rooted in love, faith, and emotional resilience.
Healing begins with the courage to face past pain, rewrite old narratives, and build a foundation of self-worth, connection, and faith. Colleen creates a safe, compassionate space where individuals can explore their healing journey at their own pace. Recognizing and understanding attachment styles play a key role in this process, as these deeply ingrained patterns shape how people connect, form relationships, and navigate emotional intimacy.
Unresolved trauma, emotional neglect, and loss often create patterns that lead to unhealthy relationships and feelings of unworthiness. By identifying how early attachment wounds influence beliefs about love, trust, and security, clients gain the awareness needed to break free from limiting thoughts and relational cycles that no longer serve them. As they engage in this work, they develop self-compassion, confidence, and the ability to establish secure, fulfilling connections with others.
A central focus of this approach is guiding individuals to rebuild self-worth and create healthy boundaries. Everyone is created to feel valued, express their needs, and foster relationships built on trust and respect. Recognizing attachment patterns helps individuals understand why they may struggle with anxiety in relationships, fear abandonment, or avoid intimacy. This awareness empowers them to heal, break generational cycles, and cultivate deeper emotional security.
Grief—whether from the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or a lost sense of self—requires both acknowledgment and healing. Honoring these emotions while finding hope and purpose is a delicate but necessary part of the journey. Anxiety and emotional triggers often stem from deep-seated fears rooted in childhood experiences. By addressing these wounds at their core, individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms, regulate emotions, and build emotional resilience.
Healing extends beyond the individual—it influences children, grandchildren, and future generations. When people break dysfunctional patterns and create secure attachments, they foster a legacy of love, connection, and emotional safety.
For those who embrace faith, spiritual reflection becomes an integral part of the healing process, helping them rebuild trust in themselves, their relationships, and God’s plan. Healing is not about erasing the past but about reclaiming power, stepping into wholeness, and embracing a life filled with love, peace, and purpose.
education & experience
Colleen is deeply passionate about guiding women and teens into early adulthood toward healing and restoration. With a background in Psychology from Liberty University and certifications in Mental Health Coaching, Crisis & Trauma Coaching, and Teen Mental Health Coaching, she combines her professional training with real-life experience to support those in need.
She also developed and taught a Biblical Counseling training program at a local church, equipping lay counselors to serve church members and the community with compassionate, faith-based care. Having personally walked through the journey of healing from trauma, neglect, and abuse, she understands not only the challenges of brokenness but also the transformative power of faith in the restoration process.
While her certifications provide a strong foundation, she believes her most valuable experience comes from the lessons learned through her own path to healing and the lives she has touched along the way. With empathy and wisdom, she is committed to walking alongside others as they navigate their own journeys toward wholeness and hope.
